Once again Mason Transit Authority is taking the industry lead in public transportation with their first-in-the-nation Transit-Community Center. Combining a transit hub with a center devoted to community activities, events, education and youth programs, along with retail business and nonprofit services, this innovative approach includes retrofitting a defunct 1950s-era National Guard armory, and is expected to revitalize several blocks in downtown, Shelton, WA, county seat for Mason County. |

Jump Starting Success: Jessica Berwick & Youth of the Year

Every year the Boys and Girls Clubs of Thurston County choose a Youth of the Year to represent them at state level competition. Each year I also shoot a short bio of the local winner to showcase at their annual fundraiser. This year's representative was Jessica Berwick, a super-charming, whip-smart and talented 17-year-old. Her charisma and confidence totally amazed me. I predict she will soon be a mega star in whatever galaxies she chooses to shine in. |
